Summary

This evidence-based program reviews current CINV guidelines and emerging research, including dexamethasone-sparing regimens and lower-dose olanzapine strategies, with a focus on special populations such as patients with diabetes. Case-based discussions will highlight clinical application, drug interactions, adverse effects, and patient-specific considerations. Learners will engage through interactive polling and receive a summary handout on antiemetic management.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this session, pharmacists will be able to:
1. Identify patient- and treatment-related risk factors for CINV.
2. Evaluate the appropriateness of antiemetic regimens for common chemotherapy protocols.
3. Compare antiemetic toxicities and select optimal therapy based on patient-specific factors.
4. Design antiemetic regimens for commonly used cancer treatments.
5. Develop evidence-based recommendations for patient-specific treatment plans.

At the completion of this program, technicians will be able to:
