Summary

Activity Description:
As telehealth and electronic prescribing continue to reshape pharmacy practice, pharmacists and pharmacy owners face growing regulatory complexity—alongside expanding clinical and business opportunities. What begins as a streamlined care solution can quickly trigger scrutiny if legal and operational safeguards aren’t in place. Learn about the risks and benefits of telehealth arrangements and the pharmacist's role in these situations.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:

  1. Explain the role of telehealth platforms and risks/benefits of certain business arrangements.
  2. Describe the role of telehealth's impact on pharmacists, including the pharmacist's responsibility in ensuring telehealth prescriptions are valid.
  3. Provide examples of enforcement actions involving telehealth providers, platforms, and pharmacies.

Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.
