Activity Description:
As pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) continue to review and audit network pharmacies for compliance, pharmacies and all pharmacy employees should be aware of key terms and conditions of participation that ultimately impact their network status and the outcomes of any PBM audits or investigations they may be subjected to. Pharmacies, particularly those in Texas, should be aware of the rights and tools they have to leverage when participating in a PBM network or undergoing any adverse action. This session will cover key areas of trending audit topics and pressure points that are commonly observed and, importantly, will identify measures pharmacies and employees can take to be proactive rather than reactive when dealing with PBM actions.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:

1. Identify Areas of Network Compliance and PBM Audit/Investigation Scrutiny: Explain key issues that PBMs focus on when reviewing pharmacies for network participation and compliance.     
2. Understand Your Legal and Advocacy Tools: Describe administrative appeal rights and legislative protections available at Federal and State levels to leverage.
3. Be Proactive: List important steps pharmacies can take to minimize exposure.

Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.
