Summary

Activity Description:
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, pharmacy involvement in the administration of childhood immunizations has expanded. With the continuation of the federal PREP Act through December 2026, pharmacies will continue to be a critical resource for ALL age groups for recommendations and administration of life-saving vaccines. This update will explore the most up-to-date recommendations, laws, and best administration practices.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:

  1. Identify changes or updates to the 2025 immunization schedule for children ages 0–18 years of age.
  2. Evaluate the most current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices [ACIP] recommendations.
  3. Determine appropriate answers for the questions that commonly arise and discuss related counseling points and key considerations.
  4. Review the current laws applicable to childhood immunizations.
  5. Review childhood vaccine administration techniques and best practices.

Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.
