Summary

Activity Description:
Pharmacies are under increased scrutiny from state regulators and additional requirements from third party payors and manufacturers. And your patients are looking for high quality personalized care. This is especially true for compounding pharmacies and those that are (or want to become) specialty pharmacies.

This presentation will explain the requirements for, and the differences between, the various inspections and accreditation programs including state board of pharmacy inspections, NABP VPP inspections, compounding accreditation programs and specialty pharmacy accreditation programs.

We will also discuss the general standards covered by accreditation programs, the accreditation process, and the specific additional operational requirements needed for a Specialty Pharmacy accreditation.
