”ACPE Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.

Description: With rapid advances in science, new technology and trends in pharmacy are constantly being proposed as ways to improve patient outcomes and deliver quality care. From 3D printing of drugs to technician administered immunizations, technology is changing the way we look at pharmacy. In this presentation we’ll discuss some trends that are already impacting the practice today, as well as new innovation that is on the horizon. We’ll also dive into some of the legal ramifications of these changes both today and in the future.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to: 1. Explain some of the advances in technology and how it is impacting the delivery of services. 2. Describe upcoming trends seen in the pharmacy industry and how it might change the practice. 3. Understand possible legal barriers to entry and ramifications of implementation. 4. Consider the future implications of the safe practice of pharmacy.

This lesson is an application-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians. This program has been approved for 1 contact hour of continuing education credit (0.1 CEU)

Adam Chesler is currently the Director of Regulatory Affairs for Cardinal Health, and has more than 15 years of experience in pharmacy including positions as VP of Operations for TelePharm, Director of Strategic Alliances for PTCB, and Manager roles with Walgreens and Target. Adam was appointed to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Task Force on Pharmacy Technician Practice, the Texas E-Health Committee, and has testified before state legislatures in support of advancing the Pharmacy Profession....More
