Summary

”ACPE Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.

Description: This program will provide pharmacists and pharmacy technicians an understanding of recent changes in Texas pharmacy rules; an understanding legislation passed by the 2017 Texas Legislature that affects practice by pharmacists and the Board of Pharmacy; and an understanding of the Prescription Monitoring Program.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:
1. Discuss recent changes to pharmacy laws and rules in Texas.
2. Describe Legislation passed by the 2017 Texas Legislature that may have an effect on the practice of Pharmacy.
3. Describe the Prescription Monitoring Program at the Board of Pharmacy.


This lesson is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians. This program has been approved for 1.5 contact hours of continuing education credit (0.15 CEUs).

This program contains a required post-test that must be completed before a certificate can be issued.

Allison Vordenbaumen Benz graduated from the University of Texas, College of Pharmacy in August 1988 and completed a Master’s of Science degree in Pharmacy Administration through the Option II program at the University of Texas at Austin in December 1994. Following graduation, she worked as a community pharmacist in California and Texas.
