Summary

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, pharmacists will be able to:
1. List pharmacotherapy recommendations for primary prevention and statin associated side effects provided in the guidelines.
2. Explain pathophysiology, risk factors, signs and symptoms of hypercholesterolemia.
3. Analyze the effects of statins on new onset diabetes mellitus in literature and apply knowledge when making a recommendation for a patient case.

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, technicians will be able to:
1. List pharmacotherapy recommendations for primary prevention and statin associated side effects provided in the guidelines.
2. Explain pathophysiology, risk factors, signs and symptoms of hypercholesterolemia.
