The buzz around Washington, DC these days is about the high cost of prescription drugs. Expectations are that the U.S. Congress and the Trump Administration plan to do something to address this issue. As part of that, national pharmacy advocates have been working diligently on DIR reform to be included in any legislative package. Come hear firsthand about the latest federal considerations for DIR reform. Get the scoop on federal pharmacy legislation signed into law late last year by President Trump as well as the current status of pharmacists’ recognition as providers in Medicare.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:
1. Explain recent pharmacy legislation enacted at the federal level.
2. Discuss current legislation and regulations being considered at the federal level that impacts pharmacy.
3. Describe the importance of pharmacist and technician involvement in the federal legislative process.

”ACPETexas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements. This lesson is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians. This program has been approved for 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit (0.1 CEU).
