Summary

Learn about the recent changes in rules relating to the practice of pharmacy in Texas and receive an update on current issues facing the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:
1. Explain recent changes to pharmacy laws and rules in Texas.
2. Describe the current issues facing the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
3. Utilize the Prescription Monitoring Program.

Allison Vordenbaumen Benz graduated from the University of Texas, College of Pharmacy in August 1988 and completed a Master’s of Science degree in Pharmacy Administration through the Option II program at the University of Texas at Austin in December 1994. Following graduation, she worked as a community pharmacist in California and Texas.
