Having grown up in a pharmacy and as a pharmacist, Doug knows firsthand the personal connections pharmacists have with their patients and the impact they have on their community. Hear how Doug sees the profession evolving, how pharmacists must demonstrate their value in healthcare, and the work he has been spearheading at the national level to address pharmacists’ biggest public policy concerns with DIR fees and PBMs.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to: 1. Discuss public policy issues impacting pharmacy. 2. Describe how pharmacists demonstrate their value and serve as meaningful contributors to patient care. 3. Identify ways pharmacists and technicians can play an active role in where the profession is headed.

Douglas Hoey is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Community Pharmacists Association. He has spent 20+ years working in and representing community pharmacies.
