What You Need to Know About USP <795> and <797> Revisions

Activity Description:
Recently published revisions to USP<795> Pharmaceutical Compounding – Nonsterile Preparations and <797> Pharmaceutical Compounding – Sterile Preparations must be implemented by December 1, 2019. This session will provide an overview of changes and how they will affect day-to-day compounding practices.

Pharmacist Learning Objectives:
1. Describe facility changes that may be required to comply with revised compounding standards.
2. Identify responsibilities of designated person(s).
3. List requirements for training and assessing personnel competency.
4. Discuss new standards for establishing BUDs.

Pharmacy Technician Learning Objectives:
1. Identify health conditions that may affect the compounding environment.
2. List essential garb and PPE for compounding.
3. Describe the frequency of cleaning activities.

Accreditation Information:
This is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians.
